SIELE Exam

SIELE stands for Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española (International Spanish Language Evaluation Service). It is an internationally recognized certification that evaluates a person’s proficiency in Spanish. Unlike DELE, the SIELE certification is valid for a period of five years.

The SIELE exam is endorsed by some of the most prestigious institutions in the Spanish-speaking world, including the Instituto Cervantes, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the University of Salamanca, and the University of Buenos Aires.

The exam assesses proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and measures communicative competence in Spanish across four areas: reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

One of SIELE’s key features is its adaptability. It offers a single multilevel exam that provides a global score, or candidates can choose to take specific modules to certify their skills in selected areas. SIELE is completely digital, from registration to receiving results, which are delivered within three weeks.

SIELE Exam Registration Process

The registration process for the SIELE exam is fully managed online through the official SIELE website. Follow these steps to enroll, ensuring you search for “Spanish Language School” on the platform to find and book your preferred session.

Step 1: Registration on SIELE Platform

1. Visit the official SIELE website at siele.org.
2. Create a personal account if you don’t already have one.
3. Log in and navigate to the “Exam Sessions” section.
4. Use the search function to locate available sessions under “Spanish Language School.” Select a session that fits your schedule and proceed with registration.

Step 2: Payment

1. After selecting your session, follow the platform’s instructions to complete the payment process securely online.
2. Once payment is confirmed, your registration will be finalized, and you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your exam session.

Step 3: Examination Details

1. About 10 days before the exam, you will receive an email with detailed instructions, including:
   • Exam schedules
   • Room assignments
   • Any materials or documents required for the test.
2. If you do not receive this information at least one week before the exam date, contact SIELE support or the Spanish Language School directly.

Step 4: Exam Day

1. Arrive on time at the exam location specified in your confirmation email.
2. Bring the following:
   • The same identification document used during your registration.
   • Your login credentials for the SIELE platform to access the test computer.
3. Check the timing and location of the oral examination (if applicable). Note that it might be scheduled on a different day from the written tests.

Who Can Take the SIELE Exam? The SIELE exam is open to anyone who wants to certify their proficiency in Spanish, whether as a first, second, or foreign language. It is designed for young people and adults and is particularly suitable for those who need quick certification for university admission or job applications.

Documents Required on Test Day On the day of the test, you must bring:

• The same identification document used during registration.
• Your login credentials for the siele.org platform to access the test computer.

Certificates and Reports

• SIELE Global Exam: Upon completion, you will receive an internationally recognized certificate valid for five years. This certificate includes scores for each section, the corresponding CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level, and an overall numerical score (0 to 1000).
• SIELE Independent Tests: Completing an independent module earns you a report, also valid for five years, detailing your scores and CEFR level equivalence for the specific test taken.

Results Within three weeks, you will receive an email notification that your results are ready. You can download your certificate or report from your personal account on siele.org. Candidates who complete the SIELE Global exam also receive a digital accreditation certificate for personal use or to share with authorized third parties.

The Spanish Language School typically releases the SIELE exam results through their online portal approximately three months after the exam date. Candidates can access their results using their registration code and date of birth.

All candidates will receive an email notification once the results are available. The official certificates, however, will not be issued until at least six months after the exam date. We will notify all candidates via email when the official certificates are ready for collection. Candidates must pick up their official certificates at the Spanish Language School Examination Centre.
